LUMIERE GALLERY
Founded in 2001 by Natalia Grigorieva-Litvinskaya in Moscow
The Lumiere Gallery is one of the oldest galleries in Moscow, specializing in the art of photography. The gallery represents recognized Soviet and international photographers and also works with contemporary authors. Since its founding, the gallery has managed to build up a collection of Soviet photographs covering the period from the 1920s to the 1990s, which includes 13 300 original prints. The gallery presents vintage, “printed later,” and contemporary limited edition prints of classic names in Russian Сonstructivist photography, Socialist Realism, architectural photography and war photography. The gallery was the first to reveal the photographers of the thaw era to collectors and viewers and one of the first to begin to collaborate with Lithuanian photographers who have now become classics. It represents exclusively the leading masters of Western photography, including Elliott Erwitt, Steve Schapiro, Greg Gorman, Guy Bourdin, etc.
