The Ilona-k artspace gallery presents the best of Russian contemporary art. Its mission is to expand the public perception of contemporary art in Russia, strengthen the position of Russian art while cooperating with the leading artists and galleries, organize exhibitions both inside and outside of the country and promote Russian artists abroad. The gallery’s founder Ilona Kesaeva is an art historian and the daughter of Stella Kesaeva, a founder and the President of the Stella Art Foundation for supporting culture, a collector and philanthropist who accomplished a number of large-scale projects in the field of contemporary art, including the Russian pavilion at the Venice Biennale which she curated as a commissioner for four years from 2011 till 2015. The Ilona-k artspace gallery’s activity builds upon the work of the Stella Art Foundation that did successful significant projects in collaboration with the world’s biggest museums. The gallery opened its space in the Mercury City Tower of the Moscow International Business Center known as Moscow-City in September 2020 and held its own exhibitions there.
